The Chicago Cowboy
a devised play

"Heart wrenching and touching... An unexpectedly moving play."
Hackney & Islington Gazette

A devised piece set in Chicago which spans two decades of a family's life in the mid-20th Century. It is inspired by the director's grandparents and explores the relationship between the Jewish and Black communities in that period.

Using live Jazz to evoke the atmosphere of the era, it is set against the backdrop of the politics of the time - American isolationism in the face of the Second World War and the recent history of racial tensions within the city.
